Types of EV Charging

Workplace Charging
Charge While You Work. Electrify Your Fleet
- Perfect solution for both employees, and visitors to your business
- Encourages those with lengthy commute times to use electric vehicles as they can charge while they work
- Chargers are often installed using a double socket, enabling them to charge multiple vehicles at the same time, increasing capacity.

Home Charging
Convenience on your Doorstep
- Often the most convenient forms of charging your electric vehicle
- Makes up 80% of charging in the UK
- Commonly uses an EV wallbox charger, connecting directly to the vehicle instead of communicating via a domestic socket, reducing charging times by up to 60%
- Power ratings vary from 7.4kW to 22kW. Our team will help you choose the best charger for your home, analysing the capacity available, and how you can maximise the potential of your home charge system.

Commercial Charging
Charge on the Go
- Rapid charging is highly used in this sector as it is suited to short visits to public spaces
- This charging method can charge the electric vehicle up to 80% in just twenty minutes
- Highly popular within service stations for drivers travelling long distances
EV Chargers and Speeds

Fast Charging
- Capable of charging a vehicle in approximately four hours, however this is usually used overnight
- This is the most common charger in the UK, perfect for domestic settings and businesses

Rapid Charging
- This is the fastest charger available on the market, able to charge an electric vehicle to 80% within just one hour using direct power. Some chargers are even capable of achieving this within twenty minutes.

EV Charging Grants
The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) are offering a government initiative, supporting, and embracing the movement to ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV) across the UK. There are schemes to support both workplaces and domestic sites.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
It provides support to workplaces across the country, offering savings of up to £10,000 towards the installation of workplace chargers. This offers a generous 75% reduction in costs, capped at £350 per socket, and forty individual charging stations per business.
The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS)
It will cover up to £350, not only for the initial purchase of the charger itself, but also towards the installation. Every customer can claim one charge point per electric vehicle, which is capped at two per household.
Additional Requirements for Acceptance
- Adequate off-street parking
- Installation must be carried out by an OZEV accredited contractor
- The works must not be more than four months ahead. Our technical team have excellent response rates, so do not worry. We can deliver our service at a time suited to you.
- Please note – If you are applying for the WCS, you are not required to have electric vehicles in your fleet at the time of application, however you are required to demonstrate a future need for EV Charging. Claims cannot be made retrospectively.
